Dr Robert Sew Hoy

Dr Robert Sew Hoy is an accomplished orthopaedic surgeon with extensive experience in hip and knee surgery, as well as trauma surgery.

He specialises in treating hip and knee conditions, with a focus on anterior total hip replacement surgery (a minimally invasive approach), robotic-assisted total knee replacement surgery, knee arthroscopy and reconstruction, and trauma procedures.

Dr Sew Hoy serves as the Head of the Orthopaedic Department at Northern Beaches Hospital and was the Director of Training from 2017 to 2021. He also contributes to education by writing and lecturing the hip syllabus for the Australian Orthopaedic Association Sydney training program. In 2013, he earned a Master of Medicine degree with merit from the University of Sydney and completed the university’s Clinical Teacher Program. Additionally, he is an active member of the Infection Control and Operating Theatre Committees.
